Abstract

Education plays an important role in the development of a society. When we talk about Islam and its teachings we see that Islam itself emerges from the word 'Iqra'. That’s why education has an immense value in Islam. Education strengthen the minds so that people may easily learn to deal with the challenges they face throughout the life. Chronologically from Ashab-e-Suffa to Muslim scholars and educationists of Sub-continent emphasized the process of education with proper training and highlight its importance in Islamic perspective. This paper narrates the educational concepts of five outstanding intellectuals, thinkers and educational philosophers of Sub-continent.
