Abstract

Establishment of All India Muslim League (1906) was good news for the Muslims of the sub-continent. Mercurial leadership of Quaid-e-Azam not only fought with the British but also dealt sagaciously with intrigues of Congress - the Hindu representative political party. A new history was written for the Indian Muslims on August 14, 1947 when Pakistan emerged on the world map. The journey, after the creation of Pakistan, started with extreme helplessness. This new - born state faced many problems that included: problem in the distribution of resources and assets between India and Pakistan, administration problem, problem of annexation of Kashmir and Junagarh state and many others. But the nation was strong and united under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam. Every individual and community contributed its share in stabilizing Pakistan and this helped in solving basic problems. Memon community was on the top of the list that contributed generously. It is lamentable that there is no mention of the Memon Community's contribution to Pakistan in the history books. In this research article, the role of Memon community in the establishment of Pakistan is discussed.
