Abstract

Mustafa Lutfi El-Manfaluti was writer and poet; in this article his prose is discussed. He translated several short stories from French, although he couldn't read and speak French, he also wrote several essays and stories, his work represent early development of short stories and essays in modern Arabic Literature. His Short Stories and Essays are good combination of Classical and Romantic styles, but in his short stories realism is debatable.
